BEDFORD is set to celebrate its ethnic and cultural diversity with its first community Iftar.
The Iftar event will explain to the community the meaning of Ramadan and the ritual after fasting.
The event takes place at Bedford’s Islamic Centre in Westbourne Road on Sunday, May 28 and there will be information about Islam, stalls from other organisations and fun activities from 4pm.
As part of the event the organisers are setting the Fast Challenge. Participants would have breakfast at 3am and then not eat or drink until 9pm that evening.
