Creating a better world

Making a difference everyday

Launched in 1991, HRF seeks to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and developmental programmes, supporting them to build a better life and find their own solutions to global problems.

HRF is a signatory of the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and has a partnership agreement with the European Commission Humanitarian Aid (ECHO). It is also a member of the British Overseas National Development Forum (BOND).

Our Vision

Human Relief Foundation (HRF) envisions a world in which every man, woman and child can enjoy an empowered life in security, dignity and with equal opportunities, in which the basic requirements of all people are fulfilled.

Our mission is to achieve lasting improvement in the quality of life of all people, regardless of their gender, race, religion, class or political affiliation, by mobilising resources, building partnerships and developing local capacities to:

  • Enable individuals, groups and communities to mitigate the effects of disaster and crises, prepare for their occurrence and provide humanitarian relief and recovery;
  • Assist the disadvantaged in becoming self-reliant by developing their own solutions to development challenges and creating sustainable livelihoods;
  • Promote sustainable development and address the root causes of conflict through programmes that target education, shelter, water and sanitation, health and nutrition and humanitarian dialogue;
  • Support the vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalised and enable them to voice their needs.
  • Build local capacities.

 YEMEN CRISIS

Yemen is experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe. We are on the ground. Please donate today.

Yemen, the second-largest Arab sovereign state and poorest country in the Middle East, is currently in the midst of one of the worst humanitarian disasters in recent history. Its people are in desperate need of clean water, food, clothing and essential medical aid after fleeing their homes to avoid getting caught up in the violent conflict.

We are reaching out to you and asking for donations to help vulnerable Yemeni civilians get to safety and restore access to much-needed supplies. Our relief teams are already on the ground in Yemen, helping residents with medical care, providing support for displaced people and assisting in micro-reconstruction projects.

 ROHINGYA APPEAL

Since the crisis escalated in September 2018, HRF has stepped up our efforts to offer a wide range of support and aid to those affected by the situation in Myanmar, with many long term sustainable projects already in place, as well as many more in the pipeline.

The situation is getting worse and the Rohingya are losing hope, but our promise to them is that we will do all that we can, with the support of generous and caring people like you, to alleviate some of their suffering and assist them in building new lives and returning to normality.

  • The Rohingya have suffered years of persecution in Burma.
  • In 2009, a UN spokeswoman described the Rohingya as “probably the most friendless people in the world.
  • Millions have fled their homes due to the violence.
  • Rohingya refugees who have fled persecution are now residing in squalid camps with little food, water and hygiene.

PALESTINE APPEAL

Through your donations, we are delivering food, providing medical care and emotionally supporting those worst affected by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Working closely with local health providers and hospitals, we are committed to helping innocent Palestinian citizens overcome their hardships – and your support can make a real difference.

Each day, innocent people are faced with a terrible reality – starvation, lack of shelter and a shortage of medical supplies are trapping Palestinians in a daily fight for survival.

Everyone deserves basic human rights, which is why Human Relief Foundation and our partners have responded and pushed for further charity aid in Palestine, hoping to supply these vulnerable people with much-needed essentials for everyday life. Help us to make a real difference to the lives of these people in their hour of need.
