Mosque Iftar 2018

Following on from the successes of Iftars from 2012-2017,  Faith Associates through the Mosque Iftar project will deliver Mosque Iftar 2018 events in Mosques and Islamic Centres around the UK this Ramadan.

Mosque Iftar was launched in 2012 to bring the community together during the holy month of Ramadan. The Mosque, especially during Ramadan, should be more than a place people come to just pray. It should be the center point for all Muslims. It is estimated that this year, Mosques will serve over 500,000 meals during the month.

Having an Iftar at the Mosque inviting people of all faith and no faith together to experience the unity and opening of a fast is a beautiful experience. Hosting a Mosque Iftar can build relationships with the community. Opening the doors of the Mosque during this special time will show the openness and kindness of Muslim communities all over the UK.

The team have been involved in facilitating Iftar’s since 2012, working with 100’s of Mosques, local authorities & Olympic teams during the 2012 London Olympics. The Mosque Iftar website is an easy platform for Mosques to promote their Iftars. It publishes articles, videos and pictures of Iftar events taking place at Mosques to help inspire and encourage others to do the same.

Over 35 Mosques across the UK have already registered their Mosque iftars for Ramadan 2018. The cities that Mosques have registered their iftars on www.mosqueiftar.com are below:

  • West London
  • East London
  • Birmingham
  • Bury
  • Newcastle
  • Wolverhampton
  • Leeds
  • Sheffield
  • High Wycombe

Imam Qari Asim from Leeds Makkah Mosque believes the Mosque Iftar project is very important during the month of Ramadan in reaching out & opening the Mosque to the community.

“Our vision of good tends to be far too small. Common good needs to include respect & care for all of Gods creation, Mosque Iftar is a fantastic way to share a meal with people from all walks of life & build relationships with them”.
